2116 Pollinosis in the state of santa catarina

Background : To report a case of pollinosis in the state of Santa Catarina, since there are only reports in the literature described in Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul.

Methods : PD, 48, professor of rural area of Lages, said start with sneezing, nasal obstruction and nasal pruritus, and ocular pruritus lacrimejanto started 2 years ago, and that worsened during the spring months and ceased on weekends or holidays. Denied symptoms in childhood, or of them occurring before transfer to rural areas.

Results : Prick test with positive evidence for Lolium multiflorum, Paspalium notatum and Cynodon dactylon were negative for other aeroallergens tested.

Conclusions : Pollinosis The grasses in Brazil was described in the 70's and the first cases observed in Curitiba in 1977 The pollinosis is the result of contact of allergenic pollen of certain plants with specific IgE antibodies in the mucous membranes, whose clinical manifestations are occurring seasonal. It becomes important, therefore, knowledge of allergens work environment and characteristics of the region to the confirmation of the diagnosis of pollinosis.
