Learning Objectives:
Temperature changes and specifically drops in temperatures can induce prompt symptom development in several cold induced skin disorders. This lecture will focus on cold urticaria and will review the clinical features of this disease and the differential diagnoses. Participants will also learn how to diagnose cold urticaria and how to assess disease activity by measuring temperature thresholds and stimulation time thresholds. Finally, this presentation will provide practical tips for the management of cold urticaria with a focus on how to prevent the re-occurrence of symptoms.
