Learning Objectives:
The talk will cover different strategies of primary prevention of asthma and allergy (i.e. prenatally and postnatally). The audience will be confronted with the fact that most strategies to prevent asthma and allergy have failed, and that prolonged breastfeeding seems to be the best advise that can be given to a mother of a young infant. The role of bacterial products (probiotics and prebiotics) will also be discussed
